In the Eixample, the best cocktails come from rooftops and from one converted warehouse. That means the terraces at Casa Bonay and Eleven BCN, plus the cocktail bar inside La Textil Collective. The rest of the cocktail bars on our list are just outside the Eixample in Ciutat Vella, a 7 to 15 minute walk from Passeig de Gràcia. They are worth the extra blocks.

Where can you get a good cocktail inside the Eixample grid?
Inside the Eixample, our two strongest picks are a former textile warehouse on Carrer de Casp and an 11th-floor rooftop on Rambla de Catalunya. La Textil Collective runs a serious cocktail bar next to its own brewery. Eleven BCN is an aperitivo terrace with a gin-led menu, and from up there the geometry of the streets becomes readable.
The old textile warehouse at La Textil Collective now holds a brewery pouring eighteen taps of its own beer, a BBQ restaurant cooking on a Josper oven and a high-level cocktail bar. You can start on a house beer and finish on a cocktail without leaving the building. Master brewer Brian Blazek opened it. Down in the basement, the 303 bar plays vinyl only and runs its own programme, separate from the main floor.

La Textil Collective
Hours: Mon closed · Tue–Thu 17:00–01:00 · Fri 17:00–03:00 · Sat 10:00–03:00 · Sun 10:00–16:00
Address: Carrer de Casp, 33B, Eixample, 08010 Barcelona
Eleven BCN is on the 11th floor of a hotel just off Passeig de Gràcia, with views all the way round the Eixample. Weekend DJ sets stay at a volume where you can still talk. Gin is what the menu does best, and the selection rotates. Go on a clear weekday at sunset: fewer people, clearer views across the Eixample.

Eleven BCN
Hours: Mon–Thu 16:00–00:00 · Fri–Sat 16:00–01:00 · Sun 16:00–00:00
Address: Rambla de Catalunya, 26, Eixample, 08007 Barcelona
Which other Eixample rooftops are worth a drink?
Two more, both on hotel roofs. El Chiringuito, up on the roof of Casa Bonay, is a tropical garden bar with a cocktail list built on rum and fruit. La Terraza del Pulitzer is six floors up, and it trades in vermouth and vinyl rather than bottle service.
Casa Bonay is a Modernist building turned boutique hotel, and El Chiringuito sits on its roof among climbing plants and rattan furniture. The cocktails lean on rum, fresh fruit and mint. It’s seasonal, open from late spring through September. The space is small and the waitlist fills fast from July, so book ahead and aim for golden hour, Wednesday or later.

El Chiringuito de Casa Bonay
Hours: Mon–Sun 18:00–23:30
Address: Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 700, Eixample, 08010 Barcelona
La Terraza del Pulitzer has a retractable awning and looks across the Eixample at an angle where the geometry clicks into place. The Sunday vermut session, with a vinyl DJ and tapas from the kitchen, is the best version of this bar. On weekdays you can walk in. The pace is that of a neighbourhood terrace, not a hotel amenity.

La Terraza del Pulitzer
Hours: Mon–Sun 17:00–23:00
Address: Carrer de Bergara, 10, Eixample, 08007 Barcelona
Which cocktail bars are a short walk from the Eixample?
Three of them, all in Ciutat Vella. Número Tres is at the northern edge of El Raval, Negroni is on Carrer de Joaquín Costa and Especiarium is on Carrer de la Princesa. Each is a 7 to 15 minute walk from Passeig de Gràcia, and each handles the drink in its own way.
Número Tres is a small, low-lit room near Plaça de Catalunya, and most people in it came on purpose. The list reworks classics instead of chasing novelty. The best drinks are the ones off the menu, so take a seat at the counter and give the bartender a spirit and a mood. It works for a first drink or a last one.

Número Tres
Hours: Mon–Thu 19:00–01:00 · Fri–Sat 19:00–02:00 · Sun closed
Address: Carrer de les Sitges, 3, Ciutat Vella, 08001 Barcelona, Spain
There is no printed menu at Negroni. The bartenders ask two questions and build a cocktail from your answers. The room is small and dark, lit only by the bar. The regulars include a disproportionate number of local musicians and journalists. The house Negroni sets the standard, and the Moscow Mule and Whisky Collins are made with the same care.

Negroni
Hours: Mon–Wed 19:00–01:30 · Thu 19:00–02:00 · Fri–Sat 19:00–03:00 · Sun 19:00–01:30
Address: Carrer de Joaquín Costa, 46, Ciutat Vella, 08001 Barcelona
Antonio Naranjo pours pre-mixed cocktails from six draught taps at Especiarium. Every base spirit is worked with spices through infusion, maceration or fat-washing. The bourbon is conditioned with croissant; the tequila is macerated with beeswax and chilis. Each drink comes straight from the tap with no further preparation. That’s the reason to come, so order from the taps and leave the bottles alone.

Especiarium
Hours: Mon–Wed 15:00–02:00 · Thu 12:00–02:00 · Fri–Sat 12:00–03:00 · Sun 12:00–02:00
Address: Carrer de la Princesa, 29, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona
Which Eixample cocktail bar suits which kind of evening?
It depends on the evening you want. The rooftops are for an aperitivo while the light fades. The warehouse is for a group that wants beer, food and cocktails in one place. The table shows where each one is and what it does best.
Walking times on our list are measured from Passeig de Gràcia, and the three cocktail rooms are an easy walk toward the old town. Start on a rooftop while it’s still light, then walk down to Ciutat Vella for the later rounds. In summer, book Casa Bonay well ahead. And check each card for opening days before you head out.
