All'Arco

All’Arco is a tiny family-run bacaro in San Polo, a short walk from the Rialto Market. Its cicchetti change daily, shaped by whatever is bought at the market each morning, and it comes up often when people who live in Venice talk about where to eat.

Get there early, since the finest bites are snapped up quickly. Keep the order simple with the Baccalà Mantecato on a crostino and the Sarde in Saor. If gorgonzola paired with anchovies turns up among the cicchetti, try it: the combination seems odd on paper and works once tasted.
