tante care cose

tante care cose is a little Pigneto wine bar set up by a cook with a long background in high-end restaurant kitchens, who later chose a simpler format. Natural wine comes on draught, and the food is served as snacks instead of proper courses: small dishes and fermented things prepared in house, nearer to the tapas counters of Spain than to the usual Roman aperitivo. The menu is brief, and the crowd uses it as a reason to stay on and keep the wine coming, more than as a full dinner.

Ask which ferments the kitchen has made this week. Everything fermented here is prepared in house by a cook with a background in high-end restaurants, and the compact kitchen swaps those dishes in and out more often than any other part of the menu. They come among the little plates and snacks served with natural wine on draught, in a bar where people settle in for rounds of drinks instead of a complete meal, and where the food draws more on Spanish tapas than on a Roman aperitivo.
